Pre-Access Funded Qualifications for 2015/16

We are pleased to announce a range of AIM Award qualifications at Level 2 which have been designed to prepare learners for the demands of the QAA Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diploma have been approved by Ofqual and will be available from June 2015. All the qualifications have also been approved for funding by the Skills Funding Agency for the academic year 15-16.

We have designed them to link to the most popular Access subject areas and focus on academic and subject related content that will provide learners which an excellent grounding in their chosen area. The 18 credit Certificates are available in the following title-s:

  • 601/5748/3 AIM Awards Level 2 Certificate in Skills for the Health Professions (QCF)
  • 601/5747/1 AIM Awards Level 2 Certificate in Skills for Applied Science and Engineering (QCF)
  • 601/5749/5 AIM Awards Level 2 Certificate Skills for Social Care (QCF)

The Certificate-sizes make the qualifications perfect for study alongside GCSEs in Mathematics and/or English. Although we haven’t included specific study skills units in the qualification, we have embedded them across the qualifications as part of the assessment strategy to give learners the tools they need for the rigours of Level 3 study.

If you would like to find out more information about the qualifications, please contact your AIM Awards Curriculum Manager or alternatively, contact the AIM Awards team on 01332 861999 or enquiries@aim-group.org.uk.
