Removal of credit from AIM Awards qualifications

Removal of credit from AIM Awards qualifications

What are we doing?

Where a qualification's rules of combination has no optionality (i.e. all components are mandatory) or where a qualification has a simple rule of combination (i.e. learners must achieve one mandatory component and one component from the option group) then we are removing credit from both the individual components and overall qualification.

Why are we doing this?

We are doing this to simplify our qualifications. Since the introduction of the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), there is no requirement for qualifications to be based on credit.

How does this affect me?

Charges, Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and any funding are not affected. The only thing you will notice as an AIM Awards centre is that the rules of combination in qualification handbooks and your learner's qualification certificates no longer refer to credit.
